Humax 9300T 500gb I had heard so many negative comments about all of the PVRs across many manufacturers that I held off buying for a long time, until the need become too great to ensure we recorded all the kids programs!!This machine is working great, simple menus which are easy to use, no fan noise, records as set including series link and so far we have made little use of the massive disc space. So very pleased with it.

Stopped Recording This recorder seemed to be the best recorder I’ve tried yet. And I’ve tried a few of them now. My Sharp was very good but always kept freezing on me. I tried a Sagem, which had a rubbish interface and was slow, and which eventually stopped working. Then I tried the Humax, and when it worked I could understand the good reviews because it has a lot of good features and a very nice interface. But then the recording stopped working after a few days. The recording symbol completely disappeared. I found a bunch of other reviews in which people have experienced the same thing. I called up the company and they said it seems to have a faulty harddrive. It seems like there are so many problems with all these TV recorders. Maybe the technology is just too new or something. But if you are going to get a TV recorder then I would recommend buying through Amazon, because their customer service is top and even though I had my Sagem for over a month Amazon still took it back. This Humax…

Humax PVR9300T/500GB I received this after doing a lot of research, but don’t find it particularly pleasing. Its not that straightforward to use, the guidebook is muddled, and the worse thing about it is, once its connected through my Samsung TV, (which receives all freeview channels without any problem at all when used on its own), some freeview channels come up as “scrambled” .. and others lose the signal and freeze. Before anyone questions me – yes, they are the actual freeview channels, such as Pick TV (channel 11) and not the top up tv channels, which I wouldn’t pay for. So not a happy bunny, and wouldn’t really recommend Humax to anyone.
